Le Bleu de Lectoure is an artisanal pastel blue, made in Lectoure, in the Gers.
Also called "Pastel des dyers" or "Blue of woad", it makes it possible to obtain exceptional shades of blue! Once very popular for dyeing textiles, this magnificent color (a sign of nobility) was also used by painters and decorators all over Europe!
Since 1994, Le Bleu de Lectoure has been highlighting Pastel (Isatis Tinctoria) and in particular:
The cultivation of the plant (soon to come from our own fields).
The extraction and natural production (without chemicals) of pure pigment, for use in Fine Arts, decoration, the textile and manufacturing industry...
